This week, our crews teamed up with our neighbors at the Lafayette Fire Department for joint training on search and rescue techniques and basement fire operations. Basement fires present unique challenges — firefighters must descend into extreme heat and smoke as hot gases and flames rise up the same stairways used for entry.
