To become a train operator, new hires spend 10 weeks training in the classroom and operating passenger-less trains alongside instructors. Through a new apprenticeship program, our newest train operators are also now being paired with mentors and invited into workshops where they can learn from staff in other departments. The extra support, which mirrors a program available to bus operators, comes as we aim to bring on 50 more train operators in preparation for the METRO Green Line Extension. Lea
