Not all chicks make it to hatch day, and there are many reasons why. Sometimes the humidity or temperature during incubation isn’t quite right, causing the chick to stop developing. Other times, the egg wasn’t fertile to begin with, or the embryo may have stopped growing early on due to genetic issues or poor nutrition in the parent birds. Even at the very end, a chick might be too weak to pip through the shell or get stuck in the wrong position. As heartbreaking as it is, each unhatched egg is
