Stop stopping at 12 reps! ❌ Rep ranges are targets, not barriers. Just because a rep range is 8-12 doesn’t mean you stop at 12 reps. That range is just ideally where the set would end however the main goal is to push the set as close to failure as safely possible first. Rep range doesn’t matter as much as people think. Anybody saying low reps for strength, moderate reps for muscle, and high reps for “tone” is fueling the misconception. You can build muscle in 5–8 reps, 8–15 reps, or even 15–30 reps… IF you’re actually training close to failure.
